Main Menu User Guide

The following menu concerns the display of simulated hydrological layers. “Static Layers” give access to time invariant information: Location of reservoirs, water districts (Demarcaciones) and their subdomains. In the Time-Varying Hydrologic properties drop-down menu, the main model calculations for the Iberian Peninsula are displayed on top of the base map. It is important to notice that the simulations were performed for the time period of January 1st, 1985 to July 1st, 2014, meaning that navigating in time beyond that range will display no results. The time navigating tools can be found in the bottom left section of the Platform page. On the upper right corner of this window there are 3 buttons to change the background, to toggle “fullscreen” and to visualise the scale of the active layer. Some other general options can be found in the bottom section of the main menu, specifically the option to disconnect/connect the display of the current value below the mouse and it is also possible to download the visible information as a PNG and KMZ format. Zoom-in and out are available using the “+/-“ on the upper left corner of the map or using the mouse wheel. Clicking on “a reservoir” one gets information about the main characteristics of the reservoir and to a link to the reservoir webpage. Clicking on a “Demarcation” or on a subdomain on the map one gets spider diagram with a summary of the indicators (Environmental, socio-economic and governance) in five scenarios. The “+” menu on the right side of this one provides more information about the indicators. Also, visit the plus menu for information regarding the environmental, sociological and economical indicators of the Aguamod project. For more information on the development of these hydrological models and the how the Aguamod platform is structured, visit the official aguamod documentation. Plus Menu User Guide

The plus menu gives access to the indicators’ layers at the “Demarcation” or the “subdomain” scale. Those layers are color-coded in accordance to the value of each indicator for each of the 5 scenarios addressed in the project. Choosing one scale in the first drop-down menu will display a second drop-down to choose the indicator to be displayed. Choosing the indicator the last drop-down menu will be displayed to select the scenario. To know more about the scales, the indicators and the scenarios, visit the offial guide to the AGUAMOD indicators.
